I'm another starting again - after some 50 years.
I now live in West Suffolk, the semi-desert that is The Brecks (unlike some areas we've only had a few drops of rain in the last few weeks).
I have a few dozen plants in a South facing porch, some gifts, others from garden centres, Wilko, Homebase etc., many unlabelled/unknown of course.
I can remember all those years ago going through the books in my local public library trying to identify what I had, mostly unsuccessfully.
I was hoping things might have changed and this time around I may have more luck but no, there are now so many more plants commonly available and although there are also vastly more resources too, it's just as confusing. Maybe I'll get there in the end.
I have just finished re-re-potting almost everything after realising I had been too cautious when cleaning roots of old compost and I had over-potted many. Wonder how many will survive.
Another starting again

Re: Another starting again
Welcome to the forum. There are great resources on line which were not there decades ago - to help with identification , cultivation etc.. Find the nearest branch and go along, there is nothing like sharing with like minded enthusiasts. Happy growing and to starting again.
Re: Another starting again
Thanks.
Indeed there is much online but for so many plants differences can be subtle it is difficult to know where to start with identification (if one can get past the distorted resuts of most search engines).
Cultivation is not so much of an issue, so far, except that identification may help in some cases.
The BCSS cultivation guides are very good - and I have relieved World of Books of much of their stock too

Closest is South Norfolk - and I try to avoid driving anywhere near Norwich these days, it's changed so much over the years when even a route straight through the centre was easy.
