returning member from Leeds

I've been a member before and joined again this year. I went to my first meeting of the year on Monday.
Some of my favourite cacti are Echinocereus, Rebutia and Astrophytums. We went to Southfield Nurseries for the first time this year and I got a nice selection of their Rebutia hybrids, as well as some Chamaelobivia, which I'd never grown before.
Some of my favourite succulents are caudiciforms and Adromischus (nothing too terrifyingly expensive; no herrei forms!) We have to bring the caudiciforms into the house for winter so I try not to get so many that they won't fit on the windowsills.
I first joined about 20 years ago I think, when I was about 11. I still have a couple of plants from when I first got into cacti, but not many. My collection has got a bit neglected over the last few years but this year I have been trying to improve it. I've divided and pruned things and bought new plants. There was a good plant sale at the Leeds meeting on Monday so that helped! We also went to the Manchester cactus mart for the first time this year too.
We have just finished repotting all our plants so I might try and take some photos over the next few days. I have been taking a lot of photos of individual plants through the year, particularly as they've flowered, so I will see if I can find some good photos to post.
My mum has joined too btw, I think she's TraceyM. We've always gone to meetings, sales, shows, etc, together so if you've met one of us you've probably met the other.
I also like to grow lots of other different types of plants such as ferns, woodland plants, a few orchids, aroids, encliandra and weird species hybridFuchsias, gingers and a few South African bulbs. My other big interest is geology. I've just finished an OU degree, so that's perhaps partly to blame for my collection getting neglected recently!
