The Senecio is Senecio Herreianus, easy to grow in full sun but needs room to trail.

The trichocereus (whatever the species) is rather etiolated and needs to be in a much brighter location.

Being a newbie to cacti and succulents I googled Trichocereus schickendantzii to work out which is which and it told me that it is an Echinopsis. Which got me wondering, out of interest, what is considered to be the ultimate authority by you guys when it comes to current taxonomy?

Another question- how much did they cost Mandy!

Short answer - there isn't one; there can't be one. The closest you get is when something approaching a consensus forms around a particular view. Some plants' names are less contentious than others.

Some authorities are "Lumpers" and some authorities are "Splitters".

If Messrs Lumper and Splitter ever got together to write a Lexicon goodness knows how long it would take to get published.

I reckon the greenhouse will be ideal. Don't water it until late March/early April though.
