I was suggested two wests staging before and I am about to place an order for one.

Any feedback please on how the following hot benches should be used - https://www.twowests.co.uk/hot-bench
Can I just place my caudex plants on it? I presume putting sand over aluminium will not help!

I have one with a plastic hood over the top that I use for seed raising. For this purpose I just stand the seed pots directly on the aluminium base.

Would that even survive outdoors... sounds like an electric risk no?

No you put it on the bench , you can get different sizes but it means all plants on that area have nice warm roots.
You won't get many on the little two west bench
