Here are some pictures -- perhaps less mathematical, but clearly patterns! So that no one has to puzzle: these are seed surfaces of cactus seeds.

Lovely Brachystelma Barberae, I had one that lived for about ten years and flowered each year, perfect plant for the showbench when in flower!

I love it too Stuart, have had it for a number of years now and it flowered two years ago for the first time and again last year.
