Cidermanrolls wrote: Sun Jun 09, 2019 8:15 am It has been a good weekend in my, partially shaded, greenhouse too. This view shows 15 Schick hybrids and 2 “multihybrids” in flower this morning.
I bought some Echinopsis hybrids yesterday, but am looking for some particular Schicks. i have a few, and a few of Brian Fearn's from AbbeyBrook. Can you suggest a supplier?
Susan Pink is "winding down" following the passing of her husband. She is pink4520 on eBay and sends out excellent plants, but unfortunately eBay bidders send prices to daft levels sometimes. Other good eBay sellers are bilsdalecactus and spikey.yorkie.
Thanks

el48tel- Doug Sizmur in Kent I understand has a number of Schicks if you haven't already bought from him.
If you pm me with the ones you are looking for I may be able to help as I have a few offsets.

Thank you everyone for your very kind remarks.

Hi All,
I don't grow these as they are only pretty when in flower but could you encourage offsets by actively damaging the growing point, the don't flower from the tip so it wouldn't affect flowers and you would get more offsets for swaps.

A new tip I got recently was to use a heated needle to do this as it causes a tiny bit of damage that isn't visible after a little growth, I normally use the tip of forceps.

Wow! I have never been bothered about flowers on cacti although the cacti I kept as a child did flower. These lovely blooms are changing my mind and making me a tad envious.
