Colourful clone of Echeveria rosea.

Post by Paul in Essex »

Upon returning home from one of my Mexico trips I found a small piece of echeveria had somehow blown into my luggage.

A few years down the line it has proved to be hardy and very colourful - usually this species is pinker than this.
Captured this morning in full sun.

Who knew the very strong Mexican winds can provide in something unexpectedly and unincidentally nice as this.

I don't suppose you've propagated any have you? Or could any pieces like the ones that were blown into your luggage be blown all the way to Nottingham?!!

Naughty wind ... but worth it
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.

Time to get propagating. Sounds like everyone wants a bit, and I am rather far down the queue!

 Indeed. I will get on it over the coming days as it will prop from leaf cuttings, albeit not 100% take (but that might be me)
