If you are able ......
Cut out the section in the image to lose the part containing the plants etc .... ie just the script
CTRL C on the script image fragment ... or ... right-click and select "copy"
Go to Google and try these methods
1) CTRL V .... followed by enter
Or
2) search for Translate .... select auto for the input language ... or select Japanese ... CTRL V to paste the fragment into the dialog box

Can't guarantee success but worth a try in the absence of a native speaker

My daughter works regularly in Japan. She might be able to get one of her colleagues to help.

I'll let you know.

It's Chinese, rather than Japanese. The lower part says "jade peony". The top is hard to read, but is "something king".

That's odd as it definitely came from Japan, wonder if it was a Chinese import to Japan then travelled to the UK, no wonder some of the plants take a few years to acclimatise, I only got rooting after using mycorrhizal fungi on these plants.
