First succulent I grew. Though probably not from Dikkop Flats, I think it came from the Keymarket on the High Street.

At least Dikkop Flats have no problem with cladding.

In some ways its a shame that it is so commonly and easily grown. If it weren't, it would be very seriously coveted.

I don't understand the logic of that statement. Please explain. I thought we were trying to make everybody like our hobby and plants ..... and make them readily available ..... so that the villains stopped ripping them out of the ground in ..... wherever ..... thus protecting the environment in ..... wherever .....and lowered the flow of cash into organized crime .... especially those countries having oligarchs who specialised in such.
Or did I miss something?
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.

It’s not as easy to grow as you think. It doesn’t take to too
much water.
Is it that common? Have you all got one?

I think the point is that it is an inherently appealing plant, even though it has minimal appeal to anyone who wants to collect because of rarity or the challenge to grow it successfully.

It copes with neglect well - very tolerant if not over watered.Herts Mike wrote: ↑Mon Feb 07, 2022 7:43 pm It’s not as easy to grow as you think. It doesn’t take to too

Can't speak for others, but yes, I've got a few. Not from Dikkop Flats specifically...

I also have seedlings from N. Willowmore. These are much bigger than the DF version.
