Today's offering of plant pictures for those who enjoy plants There's a separate thread should you want to talk "politics".
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.

What's that one called? It's 7 of 9 with the twisty spines.
I'm not familiar.

Echinocereus lindsayi - one of the very best for showing.

mmmm. Echinocereus ferreirianus ssp. lindsayi.

Rare, hard to grow, from Baja California, so likes it warm in winter. All the things I try to avoid.
With that said I have some ferreirianus coming from seed, but they're not nearly as showy as lindsayi.
We'll see how it goes..

Apparently (I haven't seen the first description), Jorge Meyrán named the plant after George Lindsay and his wife. lindsayi - either at species or subspecies level - is, therefore, an error to be corrected, to lindsayorum.

I've killed two plants through not keeping it warm enough over winter, I think - it is a Baja California native after all - so I'm impressed to see such a sized plant.
