oooooooooooooooooo that is cracker now on my "look out for" list
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.

Fab plant. Two alpine nurseries had it for sale at the Kendal AGS show on Saturday, which was nice to see. Though I hope nobody bought plants hoping to show them in future as it resolutely will not open its flowers until afternoon - long after judging!
Darren nr Lancaster UK. Growing Conophytum, Lobivia, Sulcorebutia, bulbs etc.

Needs plenty of water and doesn’t like high temperatures. Best suited for alpine growers, not a good greenhouse plant but looks great in flower. Easy to grow but not with the rest of the plants we write about here.

The current name is Daggodora sphalmanthoides.

I bought my original plant from an Alpine Garden Society show, which ties in with the cultivation comments above.
