New to you!

Post by Diane »

Hi everyone!:baringt:

I'm Diane Walpole, some of you southerners will probably know me (and the CO, Howard)and I've just found this great forum.

I'm a newbie to the internet, but very much an oldie to cactus collecting - over 30 years! My collection is "eclectic" as they say nowadays - a bit of everything, but I'm very fond of Mamms, Arios, Haworthias, Astros and conos. I've got a 16' x 6' gh, which is now bursting at the seams, but I still can't help propagating stuff. I grow a lot of my plants from seed, and have had a lot of success with some of the rarer and slow growing spp.

My other hobby is painting (in pastel) which is a bit spasmodic, when I get a bit of inspiration! I'm also a member of WetCanvas - a wonderful website forum for artists all over the world.

Looking forward to posting on here, and will pop up whenever I can, and will try to post some of the happenings in my gh.

Here are general views in the gh.

Regards,

Diane

Tending more towards cacti :D, particularly Gymnocalyciums, Rebutias, Sulcorebutias, Echinopses, Thelos, Feros and Mamms (and anything else I like the look of!) all in an 8 x 6 polycarb greenhouse and a few windowsills!

Hi Diane,

Hope you enjoy yourself here. Looking forward to reading your future posts.
Just like to echo what a beautifully tidy collection you maintain!

P.S. Get that Agave victoria reginae from under the bench and into the light!!!(:D

Thanks for all of your warm welcome messages!

Wish the gh was tidier than it is, but this is as good as I can manage!

Brian - only today I have offered the agave to someone I think might take it off my hands (at a price!) along with a few other venerable old-timers, I could do with the extra space - well, not under the bench, waiting on a reply to the offer.

Stephen - well spotted! There is another a gh, belongs to the CO, and of course, is bigger than mine - 24' x 8':X (he also grows c & s, but not as well as I do!)

Peter - I need the stool - 5'1" but eyes of brown! only way I can see
what's on the shelves!

Regards,

Diane
