Re: The first of many

Repotted it yesterday without any damage to myself or the plant thank goodness. Rather than gloves I wrap the stem in the thick brown paper that occasionally comes as packing in Amazon parcels. Provided it is scrunched up it is remarkably spine proof enabling me to lift the plant barehanded in to th...

Conophytum threesome

One of my Conophytum aequale seedlings produced a three lobed head 2 years ago, it seems determined to keep going that way. It hasn’t flowered yet but I wonder if the flower will have 50% extra petals...

Re: The first of many

They certainly look like typical bird pollinated flowers, probably hummingbirds. I have to repot mine tomorrow which I am not looking forward to as it is a metre tall and much spinier than it looks!

With smaller pots I also look through the the holes in the bottom of the pots to check compost colour lol.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who does that!😄

Echinocereus davisii

A few years ago I raised some of these from Mesa seed. About half the seedlings had clear green flowers and the other half were tinged with red. Either way they are pretty little plants still in 2 inch pots, they tend to hold on to their old flowers which makes them look rather scruffy
