I personally think it is good to have more control over the seedling environment, allow it to dry out periodically. Sounds like you’ve had some good results, well done

Thank you Ralph - much appreciated. Have managed to pick up the book on ebay for £25 which I was surprised about for a first edition 1954 book so look forward to having a read. Useful to discuss and may well come back to discuss after having a read!
