Re: Seedbeds with mold/fungus (baggie method)

For whatever reason I think you have spores in several of your bags, and without knowing how they got there I would err on the side of caution and assume they are in all of your bags. So, in your position I would take everything out of the bags and just keep the growing medium moist by regular water...

Re: Seedbeds with mold/fungus (baggie method)

Hello, I have a problem, my seedbeds have mold or fungus like as images A an B (less issues). I suppose they are fungus. https://i.postimg.cc/3NdjpbC1/example.jpg I used 90% pumice and 10% coconut fiber and baggie method. They are 12 days in their bags. I sowed frailea, mammillaria, haworthia, lith...

Re: Watering...or. rather water.

Personally I don't think it will make much difference. Tap water that's left stand out overnight will change to ambient temperature which some say is better for our plants. Chlorine will dissipate in it over time reducing PH (which some say is good) but you'd have to do some of your own tests as an...

Re: Fine grit (1-2mm) for top dressing seeds - Sources

Chicken grit is quite fine. Fairly readily available. Much cheaper per kilo in larger packs. Some of the pet stores sell it. Bought on-line, delivery probably costly due to the weight. May not suit plants needing acid conditions, as it will contain crushed shells, but although there is calcium carb...

Re: Ihlenfeldtia excavata 'Albirosea'

Cheiridopsis albirosea was a valid name, described by Louisa Bolus in 1967. Jacobsen's 1974 Lexicon of Succulent Plants lists the Bolus name Cheiridopsis albirosa - I guess this is the same thing and just a misprint. As Rogan says, the species has since been assigned to the genus Ihlenfeldtia as ex...

Re: Unheated greenhouse.

Good morning. Im thinking of buying a greenhouse next year to house my growing obsession. I have no means of getting any electricity to this greenhouse once it happens. Is there a list of cacti that will be OK unheated over winter? Or should I just wing it and hope? Any help would be much appreciat...

Re: 5x5cm deep pots on eBay uk

Thanks for all the information guys one quick question how do you pay Pavel ? Does he accept PayPal or is it bank transfer ? I used PayPal too. I've found that PayPal fees to other czech suppliers are also high and for bank transfers and money transfers too, so the convenience of PayPal is the deci...
