Re: Small Opuntia ID’s please

They both look like the same hybrid to me.
Uhlig did lots of crosses between O. fragilis (small pads) and Opuntia phaeacantha (and other large-padded opuntias) to produce a range of small padded plants with large flowers. A confusing group of plants in my opinion - but then I am more of a purist!

Re: Helping seedlings

I've just started potting this year's cactus seedlings on, which is another way to help them - they seem to grow faster once placed into "normal conditions". Anyone else started yet? I'm a little bit behind this year! Reminder to Me - I must remember to sow this year's seeds soon! :duh: :bangh:

Re: Another first

Tunilla sp., like all of the others. Yes, Ralph, this clone has been around in many collections in SE England at least, often labelled Opuntia microspherica, Airampoa microspherica, Tephrocactus microsphaericus, etc. The Tephrocactus on this clone/label dates back to the 70s when most big...

Re: Another first

Nice flower, Ralph. Now a Tunilla or Airampoa if you prefer.

Re: A Tea Tray of Strombocactus

A wonderful display, Jeff! (tu)
But if I was able to keep 10 each of all my favourite plants, then I would need a greenhouse as large as those at Wisley or Kew.

A certainty for Dogdyke though, I feel sure, there cannot be many of those around.
