Re: Selling plants - Plant passports - Inspection
I really don’t understand why they exist if you aren’t selling to other countries as it is putting so many people off propagating from seed and selling the surplus plants I have seen so many people stop selling plants due to the confusing information they get Follow the money Chris. Call me a cynic...

Re: Forum access problems
I have had quite a few problems accessing the forum this week, and being logged out numerous times, which I’m finding rather tedious. I don’t think I’m alone either, so do post if you’ve had problems too. Rather compounded by having to have two different passwords for the website and forum, my iPad...

Aloe longistyla
This plant has always been reliably self-compatible with me, which I am told is unusual. I have a fair few seedlings from it and didn't even bother collecting last year's seeds - you can see a couple of them lodged in the base of that Euphorbia on the left! This year I will donate them to the BCSS.

Re: Cracker
Fab plant. Two alpine nurseries had it for sale at the Kendal AGS show on Saturday, which was nice to see. Though I hope nobody bought plants hoping to show them in future as it resolutely will not open its flowers until afternoon - long after judging!

Re: lophophora companion / nurse plants
There is a handy list of plants in this area/habitat here: https://bplant.org/search.php?search=®ion_id=88&status_type_id=1&sort=scientific_name&start=0#page Other than other cacti and succulents, the genus that stood out to me was Eriogonum. Some species, not necessarily those li...

Re: The first day of meteorological spring approaches
I am thinking carefully about watering the early starters like Austrocactus and Pterocactus but I would be happier with a week of brighter weather to raise daytime temps under glass. We have only had odd days of sun in feb. Oddly mostly at weekends for a change.
