When we sow seeds most germinate as we sow under optimal conditions. We go on to keep the ones we like most. Helping seedlings
Do you guys and gals help seedlings? Or is it survival of the fittest in your seedtrays?
I help seedlings' roots by covering them with soil when they seem to need help and remove seed coats when seedlings seem to have a hard time shedding them.

For successful protection the cooperation of local people is paramount. If they are allowed to grow plants from harvested seeds they will become interested in protecting the wild specimens. Problem of course is to tell cultivated plants from wild specimens. The latter providing relatively effortless...

Very sad.
This underlines once more every collector's responsibility to only buy from reputable sources and never pay high prices for a specimen of a rare species. High prices paid are perverse incentives for illegal collectors.
