plant identification, odd succulent
I recently got an odd plant that had a hard time surviving at my parents house. I could no longer stand it and took it under my care. It has started to grow again and got new roots, so I think it will survive. But i have no clue whatsoever what species it is or family it belongs to. It's quite pale ...

Re: Edithcolea grandis
The flowers on my Edithcolea plant from Somalia have opened today!
The flower surface is not flat, but kind of 'nippled':
The flowers look quite different from the 'common' form:
Anyone else that has yet another different form of this species?- Sat Aug 20, 2011 1:01 pm

Grafting Edithcolea grandis
In April this year I finally managed to get my hands on an Edithcolea plant from the Hamadiroh area, Socotra. The plant did not look very well, and at first I expected it to die. So to be safe a made a graft on an Edithcolea stock. It took and grows very well. It doubled in size in mere weeks. At th...

6-sided Edithcolea grandis flower
This morning 3 flowers opened on my Edithcolea grandis (from Sagala, Kenya).
And if that wasn't enough, one of them is 6-lobed, instead of the usual 5-petals...
Anyone seen this before?

Re: Edithcolea grandis
@AnTTun: I bought 10 seeds from N. Gordon, World Wonders Gardens on Ebay on march the 5th 2010. 8 seeds grew a plant. @Tina: The picture shows the second plant as I got it. Challenge? Well, if the means that we get a better understanding in how to grow this remarkable plant, I think its worth it. My...

Re: Edithcolea grandis
The other plant is also blooming!
This plant is more sturdy in growth and has a more 'fresh' looking green (compared to the darker, olive green colour of the other plant).- Wed Nov 10, 2010 8:39 am

Re: Edithcolea grandis
Things are getting a bit out of hand here, if one may say so. Flowers about to get all over the plant... IMG_9736.jpg The picture isn't a good one, as the space is a bit cramped in the incubator. I've desaturated everything, except the flower buds to give you an idea. And the biggest buds aren't vis...
