Thank you all, I'll let them grow on, having stabilised the pot to prevent it falling over, and will probably end up rooting the offsets.

Progress report nearly one year one, here are some of the plants. They live in the Carnivorous Plant greenhouse with high daytime temperatures in near saturated air with their Uebelmannia friends. This rescue plant of Hilderwintera aureispina appears to be suddenly offsetting down the branches. This rescue plant of Hilderwintera aureispina appears to be suddenly offsetting down the branches. I know it grows multibranched but these offsets seem to detach relatively easily., so presumably you remove them to keep the branches clean?

I'll just apply standard bonsai treatment Mike, looking to create a multi-branched small tree about 10" tall with much reduced leaf size. Luckily, I've got plenty of them as they seem to give up for no reason.
