Re: Cacti identification thread

I would rather see one specific thread on identifications for people to get their plants identified than people regularly making new threads with their requests (like on the Cactiguide forums). Identification requests really can get out of control, if one is not careful.

Could frost have been the issue? I have similar experience with a large Crassula. The leaves died real fast after a night with some frost when I left it outside in the autumn. A few weeks later the branches and the trunk followed to decay, starting to go black from top to bottom. There was no stoppi...

Re: Pterocactus - Jewels of the Cono Sur [download]

I'm sure nobby can comment when he sees this but I remember reading (or hearing, at the TSG meeting?) that they wouldn't publish any further paper books. Re: Confused seeds.

That is not even close! Though you could have spotted it, as Ferocactus and Delosperma seeds are quite different. Or the one that sent you these should know better.

Re: Neoporteria senilis

I thought this species has fluffy and soft spines, basically wooly. But these look rather sharp and pointy.

Nice plant. I will be sowing some from the exact same locality (General Cepada, Coahuila, Mexico) as yours. I hope mine will turn out to be as nice as yours.
