Re: Surprise in Huernia pillansii v. longii

I can't remember exactly what he called it, and i'm nowhere near my notebooks today, but Doug Sizmur used to sell a "red flowered H.pillansii" Amongst my clutter I have a note from Chris Moore, telling me that it was a hybrid, I'm pretty sure he told me the other parent too. I will look i...

Re: Astrophytums

Between myself and a very good friend who grows them too, quite a LOT!

But we are at the stage now where all these A.asterias plus about five more are surplus and will be on our sales table at the National on Saturday.

Re: EU Plant Passport Scheme

Thanks Vicky It was the travel time which concerned us a bit, it would almost certainly eat into three 15 minute periods, so could presumably be as much as 8 x £61.58 so £492.64 or more if it is over half an hour for the inspection, not sure it is worth that much to us. We will have to think about i...

Re: A couple of turbinicarpus

It doesn't look like Dickisoniae, that species has longer, thin curled upright spines and is quite distinctive, and named for a lady which doesn't happen too much in the cactus world. The one from Caistor Cacti will have the correct name though. Stuart Thanks Stuart, The 'dickisoniae' looks to me l...
