Yes, as a guide they are supposed to be owned/cultivated for 6 month's. although not everyone does this.

one I’m trimming the roots every year to try and keep the main caudex a better shape I'm not sure why trimming the roots would work, surely it would slow its growth down as it needs to regrow them. Very jealous of these- great looking plants, I used to grow a few for years and then one went blind, corm was alive but it didn't sprout and then the other did the same. Can the tops get scorched, maybe I needed deep gravel.

This plant was seed grown by myself several years ago which makes it even more special, you just need to be generous with the water & repotting.

Here's a plant of sarcocaulon herrei thats been flowering recently, I'm not sure how it sneaked in the cactus house but it seems to like it there. This was a lovely gift from a friend who couldn't cope anymore. I don't know if this is definitely going to be viable seed but I have my fingers crossed....
