Mammillaria humboldtii seeds

Does anyone grow Mammillaria humboldtii? I have pollinated dozens of its flowers and am wondering when the fruits will appear. Someone told me you have to dig the seeds out. I'm not sure what that means.

Thanks, Ali. I'm mostly referring to crossing asterias with asterias. I will try to capture some pollen as soon as the flower opens next time. Does the stigma have to be open to accept pollen and initiate fertilization? Does it matter which part of the stigma receives the pollen?

Pollinating Astrophytum

I have been having a very poor success rate when pollinating Astrophytums, particularly asterias and myriostigma. I don't think it's my technique because I am much more successful when it comes to pollinating other genera. Could it be that the flowers are just not producing pollen? My brush does not...

Thanks for the responses. My greenhouse is 176 square feet. It is insulated with bubble wrap and I use a 1500-watt electric heater which has always kept the temp inside above freezing, and usually above 36F. I think all my plants are fairly cold tolerant, it's just the young seedlings I am concerned...
