Re: LED Growlights 2023

I bought the lights through a UK group buy, but you can get them directly from Andrei Nitu. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1480256902397601/?ref=share I need to measure the light intensity properly. For the Helios you can use a cheap light meter which has been calibrated for use with them. https://...

LED Growlights 2023

I have recently finished my improved LED light enclosure. It is the way it is because of serious space constraints and occupies a shelf over the TV in our living room! It has been built mainly from reclaimed materials. Each level has a Helios XP 120 (45 x 120 coverage) 100 watts dimable LED growligh...

Re: New Facebook Group: Asclepiad Growers UK

My apologies to those who have expressed interest in this new FB group (Asclepiad Growers UK). I had COVID recently for the third time and have been busy at work. It is getting off the ground slowly. I have sent personal messages to those who have so far expressed interest. Probably best if anyone e...

Re: New Facebook Group: Asclepiad Growers UK

Thanks for the comment Martin. It's meant as a complement, not a replacement. There is an active Facebook community who may not use this forum. As far as I know this forum isn't intended for swapping and selling and not everyone is on here either.

New Facebook Group: Asclepiad Growers UK

I have set up a private Facebook group for those in the UK who are interested in growing Asclepiads. I know there are other Facebook groups, but I thought it might be good to set up a group specifically to talk about growing them in the UK situation and to swap, buy and sell plants, cuttings and see...

Heat Mats

I am looking at getting a 120 cm x 40 cm heat mat to give asclepiads under lights an optimum temperature. I would value any comments or feedback on best brands and accompanying thermostats. I want to buy something decent, but don’t want to waste money either.

LED Growlights 2021

I have now transferred my seedlings to a light enclosure using a Mars Hydro SP 150 LED light bar. The enclosure was made entirely from a bed base I salvaged from a neighbour. It needed hardly any cutting, just screwing together. The enclosure is 42 cm x 90 cm and 90 cm tall. This is just short of th...

Re: Seed germination temperature control.

I promised an update on how things went, so here we go, almost a year on! I built the cabinet out of repurposed wood and some new plywood. The inside was painted with matt white paint that I had lying around. The window was made from an old microwave door glass. I taped the heat mat to a piece of pl...
