Re: Cacti Economics and the 20th century dream

Re: Malephora flowers
That would explain why I get plain orange flowers here in Madrid, when the plant from which I got the cutting had vivid flowers but was from was from a colder region several hundred meters higher up 7EFED1C0-5504-4E90-8242-E7B336101308.jpeg Shame It also probably means I’ll never get the same amazin...

Re: Notocactus roseoluteus - germination
They look great!
Sounds like they should have come up now though, so probably past it. Will leave them a couple weeks more and if nothing comes up will try again next year.
Thanks

Notocactus roseoluteus - germination
Hi All I received a lot of fairly old seeds of Notocactus roseoluteus recently. Sowed about half of them at the start of February and, when nothing had come up at the end of February, threw the rest of the packet in as well. Still no signs of life now, nearly two months on from the first sowing. Any...

New Purchases: ID and advice!
Me: We need to go to a couple of garden centers today My partner: ... don’t you think you have enough plants?? Me: I just need some pots and bits and bobs. Re: Opuntia ID
Both plants are labelled. The first has a label 'Opuntia basilaris' and the 2nd a label 'Opuntia robusta'. I think they’re the labels Carles has added based on the comments on this post? They don’t seem to be in the first pics he uploaded  @Carles, the garden looks lovely, will definitely giv...

Re: ID Please! Solved
Well now I’m confused, both the Maihuenopsis and the Tunilla look pretty identical . Is one of them particularly common?
I bought it from a bog standard corner shop, which had it alongside all the standard offerings, for €1,80. So I doubt it’s anything particularly hard to find!
