Re: Question ... Kieki paste

Ali Baba wrote: Sun Jun 02, 2024 6:56 pm I guess it could work. I’ve used it to get keikis on orchid flower stems with mixed results. It’s rather expensive and you have no way of knowing if it’s the right mix of hormones or how fresh it is.
That pretty much summed up my experience of using it too!

Re: Question ... Kieki paste

Ali Baba wrote: Sun Jun 02, 2024 6:36 pm Yes on orchids. How would you use it on cacti/succulents?
In theory, it should work applied to an areole.

Re: Question ... Kieki paste

Only with Phalaenopsis orchids. Basically apply it to a dormant bud and it can stimulate vegetative growth.

Another favourite. Sulcorebutia (and that is what I'm sticking with at the moment!) is such a good genius for flower colour.

Re: Echinopsis hybrid Ilias

Well ahead of my Echinopsis Terry! Does it stay semi-closed like that or will it open further?

The sun has kick-started some 'proper' flowering in my greenhouse. A group shot, PXL_20240602_101402561.jpg And some individual ones, PXL_20240602_101023810.jpg PXL_20240602_100744653.jpg PXL_20240602_100304989.jpg PXL_20240602_100203101.jpg PXL_20240602_095734052.jpg PXL_20240602_095605275.jpg

Re: Agave talk & pictures

That's looking very good and clean Mike. Despite being relatively common, it's definitely one of my favourites when you just step back and admire how it looks.
