Well done Diane! My Homalocephala has never flowered. How big / old is yours?
And I just added it to my wishlist... :duh:

Re: Albuca spiralis

Nothing as exciting as Diane's flowers, but just in case A. spiralis really isn't self-fertile (which would be quite a waste of ~10 flowers!), I just bought two small ones starting to flower. Extra points for clarifying whether 'Frizzle Sizzle' is A. spiralis cultivar, or is it our favourite marketi...

I really want to try these, they're supposed to be very tasty.
It took me a good few days to finally try it, the smell was so strong and unpleasant, but if you manage to bite, chew and then swallow it... it's heaven (especially when the smell is gone)!

Re: Albuca spiralis

I do have other Albuca sp., so it is possible the seed is hybrid. Ah, not really a surprise, but I was still hoping you'll reply the opposite! Thank you Giacomo! Same comment to you really! Although I saw mentiones that A. spiralis might be self fertile, and thw flowers wilted similar immediately a...

Re: Avonia Quinaria Seeds

It's a long shot, but maybe there is a forgotten A. quinaria (any and all subspecies are welcome) seed packet laying in someone's cupboard/freezer?

Re: Sinningia leucotricha

[...] Pattock...that seller has often offered Sinningia seeds, but some are not labelled (or described) correctly - the photos don't match the seed name, and one is a Paliavana, pretty much a Sinningia but one of those "don't quite know where to put it" plants, I guess ! I believe the Paliavanas do...

Re: Albuca spiralis

I've just collected the seed from mine - the seeds form very quickly on this species. Anything I should be aware of while pollinating, or is it just "take the pollen from one flower and apply to stigmas of others"? I assume A. spiralis are self fertile, I must have read this somewhere I believe. I ...
