Re: Cactus world

This is really interesting Ralph, thank you for sharing! I didn't read the details, but it feels very similar to the style transfer in deep learning area: https://www.tensorflow.org/tutorials/generative/style_transfer Edit: Results from an app called "Deep Art Effects" (Deep Art is the term worth a ...

Dear MatDz, it is Setiechinopsis mirabilis and blooms only one night with a scent similar to jasmine. For me, it is a graceful flower.
Ruggero
Thank you! It is well worth the wait, but I'd hate to miss the flowering while on a weekend out of town!

Re: Graptopetalum filiferum Batopilas progress

I guess mine could use more light, they're half the size of yours! When did you sow them? Mine are about 2.5 months old at the moment, and some aren't looking great, I reckon 5-10 might make it in the end, and rather towards the lower number.

Re: A little help/advice

Glad to see some not so patronising views shared as well. I wonder (and I wonder a lot reading this thread...) whether anyone should even be allowed to try to grow plants not personally collected in the vast wilderness of Africa, S. America or any other fancy locality, and only after visiting the pa...

Re: A little help/advice

Aiko, esp, both of you nicely explained what I meant - one cannot simply leave them sealed for months. Thank you for the Crassulacea tips as well, I have a second batch of Tylecodon seeds arriving soon, so every bit helps!
