Re: LED lights

Hello ! I grow Boswellia neglecta, Bursera fagaroides and hindsiana and Commiphora unilobata indoors with LED lights here in the UK. I use the 6500k LED ones that fit a standard (here in the UK) E27 fitting, 1521 lumens per bulb and I have several bulbs for each shelf. I grow Adeniums and several ot...

Re: What did you buy at the national?

I was able to buy a few wish list plants... A Dorstenia, no label on it but I'm assuming it's foetida. dorstenia768.jpg Euphorbias... cylind771.jpg crassicaulis770.jpg I also bought an Adenium boehmianum and a Ficus petiolaris, and met up with a Facebook friend who gifted me these lovely Euphorbia f...

Adding a photo for you...

I picked the fruits when they had turned orange/red, then took the seeds out, cleaned them and stored some, planted some. The fruits will eventually fall off if left, they don't explode.

Re: Adeneum obsesum- talking point

I have Adenium boehmianum but it’s not very enthusiastic. These are very slow growing and can go into prolonged dormancy...not really one for even the sunniest window here in the UK, this would probably need additional lighting and possibly temperature control to get the best out of it. If it's not...

Re: Adeneum obsesum- talking point

There are some green-skinned varieties...but it's likely that yours has just (quite happily) turned out that way - perhaps because of its genetics, or because of some kind of environmental factor - or a combination of these. Adeniums can vary substantially in skin colour - specialist breeders have b...

I'd be interested in a few of them, but I am also rather far away.

If you'd consider posting them I'm sure you would find good homes for most, if not all, of them.

Re: Sinningia leucotricha

Hi dragonadeniums, yes the tuber is fine and quite solid. It was re potted last year, and watered this year, but no sign of growth. Shame Sometimes they do just stop. But sometimes you can wake them up again... You could try increasing the humidity (something as simple as putting a clear plastic cu...

Re: Sinningia leucotricha

I'll send the link in a few minutes  I'm not overly fond of Facebook but it can be a great resource if you ignore all the rubbish on there - including all of the "suggestions" for groups and friends Facebook thinks you need ! The rare plant group certainly had a lot of fun with the ...

Re: Sinningia leucotricha

Do you check them during the night? They both look like moth-pollinated flowers. I have a cubic metre terrarium with it own lights, a cat litter tray humidifier and a brief intake of fresh air from a fan every day. Stays over 85% humidity most of the time. Unfortunately, I have not found the Telosm...

Re: Sinningia leucotricha

Scented of what? I love some scented flowers. They are lemon-scented, but only for a short while very early in the morning ! I have a scented Adenium...white flowers with a light jasmine fragrance. I've read that sellovi can take maybe -2 for a very short while...still, I wouldn't want to try it ! ...
