Re: Should I cut?
Is that botrytis? Always a fear when there are cacti with flowers and bud remnants still present over winter. It's not always easy to have the vents and doors open as much as I'd like. Today temperatures ok, wind too much

Re: Should I cut?

Should I cut?
Still in my first year of growing Haworthias. They flowered in the greenhouse and being unsure of tolerance have now brought them indoors for the winter to an East facing window. A Haworthia cooperi var pilifera is now throwing up a flower, should I leave this or chop it and let the plant conserve ...

Re: Late Leuchtenbergia
I haven't heard before that they need extra water, I water mine as required but always keep them in the warmest and sunniest part of the greenhouse. They flower every year now.

Re: Late Leuchtenbergia
This is the last of my Leuchtenbergia flowers, the bud was hidden under two earlier flowers. We have not had enough bright sunshine this week to encourage full bloom. BBC weather predicts 4 hours of full sunshine on Thursday but with temperatures around 4 to 5 degrees centigrade so this might be as ...

Re: Spotted mealys in saucers - control till spring or repot and treat roots?!
If you use Bug Clear Ultra vine weevil killer, this application is to drench the pot. It works both contact and systemic, technically you could get away without repotting everything.
Well done spotting them before the winter

Re: A grand recovery.
It might seem a bit backward Ralph but I'm unhappy with the clay component (spill granules) of my all mineral mix. I noticed it tends to clump when wet and gets quite solid when dry. I don't like it but most things potted in it seem to do well. Looking for improvement I'm trying some plants in my ...

A grand recovery.
I thought I might post these pictures as I regard it a success story, in thanks I believe to the advice from members on this forum. In Feb 2024 I asked advice on my first Haworthia hybrid which had bad RMB damage. I followed advice and split the plant and placed the pieces in a soil free medium. I ...
