Re: Postal strikes.....
My Royal mail guys are fine. Evri however?........... If I know a company will use them I tend to avoid where possible. Plant wise though - I ordered a Echinopsis Oxygona. 10cm diameter with 8 offsets from a lady on ebay. Rare for me to use ebay but I did. Lovely lady. It was coming from North Londo...

Re: Will these babies need water?
Hi, Are they rooted offsets? if so and are they indoors? then a little water every 2 weeks may be enough! Less if your trying to root them, let them send out new roots looking for water first. Yes they all had nice well developed roots and yes they are indoors. All my cacti are indoors but they get...

Will these babies need water?
I removed these Echinopsis Oxygona offsets from the parent plant and potted up. I have stopped watering my plants now until spring but will these tiny plants (penny placed for reference)go without water that long. Or is this a case of be guided by what they look like? Thank you.

Re: Pink / red spined grusonii. Lucky find.
So carefully with cotton bud I have tried, 99% isopropyl, acetone nail varnish remover, white spirit and meths. Nothing comes off the spine and no trace of colour on the Q tip. so if that is what they have done then they have done a pretty good job and I have no idea what they have used.

Re: Pink / red spined grusonii. Lucky find.
It’s probably been paint sprayed I’m afraid. I'd love to know how they spray the spines and not the plant? Well if that is the case never mind I have had a result but as you say, no trace of spray whatsoever on the plant or the pot. Clever. Will resort to my Ferocacti and Mamms for pure red then. :...

Pink / red spined grusonii. Lucky find.
So whilst walking the dogs I am doing the right thing and dropping a poo bag in the bin. Hey, what is this staring back at me? A 10cm diameter Grusonii complete with pot and looking in pretty good condition. Well I could not leave it there could I? Putting another poo bag to good use I get it home. ...

Re: Echinopsis subdenudata question
Sounds more likely as the mother plants look good. Thank youralphrmartin wrote: ↑Sun Jul 31, 2022 4:54 pm It need not be too little water. I've got quite a few of these all sitting next to each other, watered together. Many of them flowered, but at least one bud failed on perhaps 20% of them. Better luck next time!

Re: Have I killed it?
Thanks both. It is in a 7cm pot and was originally a lot larger. I am sure it is not over watering. If anything under watering. I am watering every two week like last year. I have noticed an opuntia drooping ( resolved now ) so maybe the heat we have had is causing more stress than before. Compost i...

Have I killed it?
Echinocereus palmeri escobedensis. One of several starter plants I got about 18 months ago. It was greener than this and twice the height but a bit floppy. Amongst the spines and the white it is still visibly green but it is very rigid too. Be a shame if I have lost it as for a beginner I have had n...
