Had a couple young astrophytums nothing more than 2 years that where feeling soft so I bit the bullet and made a cut near the root only to find pink tissue. In regards to an areole graft does some of the vascular bundle have to be present ? Or can it just be a single areole with some flesh

Thank you. I gave up with the graft anyway. Cleaned the hole properly and coated in cinnamon.still saying hopeful

I had received an Astro which had a rotten tap root. Upon further inspection the rot had traveled up the body. I managed to core it out with a large hole as a result. It is currently impaled onto a pere but the Pere is skinny and doesn’t plug the hole, what’s my best option ? I can Include photos if...
