Re: E ackermanii?
Maybe something to do with the photograph rather than the plant, but unfortunately even the colour does not grab me. A small part of a small minority interest in the UK - epiphytic/rainforest cacti, apart from their use as houseplants, so tracing anything of genuinely known ancestry would never be e...

Re: E ackermanii?
Maybe a selection or cultivar thereof, but the flowers do not appear "as nature intended" - too many petals.
That said ackermanii has been adopted as a name for a range of particular hybrids.

Re: Import from Bob Smoley?
I just checked the website after the comments about Adromiscus - they aren't listed as ascleps, but they are listed as substitutes in mixed sollections.
Only a fool could work that out, it seems. No tangent involved.
Happy days, don't yer just lurv this navel-gazing clique?

Look after the pennies...................
The plants and g(u)illotine all came from traders.
Presumably you do not apply the same standards to illogocial and undecipherable literature that appears through your letterbox from various bits of government from time to time.
Each unto their own.

Re: Import from Bob Smoley?
LLOL No need to be sorry. I picked up a couple of real bargains off EPay this week because the seller can't spell Sansevieria. There are even websites that search sales platforms specifically for spelling errors - I use those too. (For instance - I needed a bench sheer, what most people call a guill...

Re: Import from Bob Smoley?
Thanks Suzanne
I emailed them last night.
See what comes back by way of an answer.
The nursery is of very long-standing and well respected. Some kind of typo' or glitch with regards wrongly listing a genus should not put anyone off.
I'll post again as and when an email reply is received.

Re: Import from Bob Smoley?
Now, that I did not know. Thanks Al. The website is very much up and running, so far as I can tell, as it has been changed in recent times, although the copyright banner runs only until 2020, which would fit with your mention of timing. Facebook was last updated 2019. It is Sansevierias that I am in...

Re: Echinopsis bruchii
Now departed, but I had bruchii as a small seedling from Glenhirst, maybe 30-35 years ago. That flowered at around 6 inch diameter - it was globular, actually somewhat squat. The flower, after the wait, on such a large plant was something of an anticlimax. I found more to appreciate in the simplicit...
