After a very quick look around I think it might be Matucana calliantha the spines and tubercles look similar and I have seen quite a few with orange/red flowers as well as the deep red ones.

Flower looks similar on a few, I'll get ont t'internet and try to narrow it down.

Fantastic plant Mike, how can you not love a plant that produces all those lovely blooms

I was expecting them to open tomorrow but then we got a sudden burst of sunshine and they opened, I was going to do a time lapse, another time maybe.

Some great plants and blooms everyone, my muscola is giving a poor display this year and it's the first time I have kept it dry all winter!
