I'm using Excel 2010, and it works with this level, so hardly a recent version! So my order has gone off to Aymeric.

Re: Phoenix biogreen heater 2.8KW
I have two Biogreen heaters, the original Arizona (2.8kw and fan) which came with an external thermostat similar to the Biogreen 2, and a Phoenix. I have them on the floor in my new (4 yr old) greenhouse, but used to have them on chains from the roof in my old one. I use an Biogreen thermostat with ...

Re: 'Scale' on mammillaria?
I can't see clearly enough to say, so I could just be way off beam, but could they be seed pods? M. carmenae has green pods, unlike the more usual red, and the position is right for there to be fruit. If I were you I'd try to cut one off and examine it inside.

Re: Mammillaria sp. Rio Nazas
The Rio Nazas is in Durango, I believe whereas M. duwei comes from west of San Luiz de la Paz in Queretaro. Certainly the plant in Aymeric de Barmon's gallery isn't M. guelzowiana. Could it be nazacensis? Not sure, as often this is pictured as having a yellow flower, though I've seen it with a pinki...

Re: Mammillaria sp. Rio Nazas
Nice seedlings! I don't immediately recognise the name, but it wouldn't surprise me if they turned out to be M. guelzowiana, though there area few other alternatives, such as M. nazacensis.

Re: Seed harvesting advice please. Mammillaria glassii.
Hi, As far as sowing, whilst I 'would throw the seed away, because I don't think hybridisation is a good idea - but that's just me - but I'd wait a bit for the fruit to fully develop, then scrape out the seeds inside, give them a wash and dry on kitchen towel. Then you could plant, nothing special n...
