Re: Swapping Michael Kießling clones

This is an excellent idea as it was very frustrating when he decided only to sell in Germany and Austria (correct me if i'm wrong) - he always had a very good list! I bought a number of his plants before this and Brexit. How would be the best way of publishing a list? Please keep it simple, I strugg...

Re: Trying 100% pumice for the first time

That was my concern about old soil! It might be that I take cuttings and root them in pumice and that is where they can stay as the roots produced will be used to the different substrate.

Thanks for the replies.

Trying 100% pumice for the first time

Dear all, As the title suggests I have decided to give it a go and have obtained a quantity to try. For those who have/are using it my question is have you found any problems transferring plants from an organic/inorganic mix to pure pumice? How do you find re-establishing plants as I imagine root de...

Re: Selenicereus (Epiphyllum) chrysocardium

I'll send you a PM - thanks.

Out of interest whats your preferred mix for epiphyllum? I'm currently using a mix of multipurpose compost, propagation bark and vermiculite - seems ok but looking for improvements.

Re: Selenicereus (Epiphyllum) chrysocardium

I also think this is a cracking plant to grow. I currently have a cutting I am rooting but have never grown this sp. before, however, it seems that a 'general' epiphytic compost mix and min. winter temp. of 12 deg. C seems to suffice ( that's what I am aiming for anyway!). As regard watering I am pl...

First flowers from seed!

Always nice to get the first flowers from a seed grown plant. This Maihueniopsis glomerata has been quietly sitting on a shelf out of harms way!!

Re: Time for a repot!!

For me this plant grows like a weed! I have had success growing plants from cuttings of the top growth as well as pieces of tuber, both types produce large underground tubers in quite a short time. Like Mike no one seems to want any of them. My plants tend to produce droopy growth although I have se...

Tephrocactus verschaffeltii

Have had 3 flowers on this plant this year but only managed to catch one open. This clone produces short chunky stems which seem to fall off and root in other pots, my other clone produces tall lanky growth and seems to take loads of water otherwise all the stems flop over. Note: I had this plant as...
