Some other scary plants have nice flowers too. This is Tephrocactus aoracanthus var. paediophilus.

They might not come in white, but some have less pink than others,

No, I should really try crossing two plants that claim to have red flowers, but not high on my priority list.

Literally, the underneath. This clump of L. werneri has lost its roots. Might happen regularly, but I don't usually lift them up to check.

I don't know where the soil goes, but when I finally get round to repotting there is often nothing but stones in there.

Rewards of a hard life

This Mammillaria albiflora was attached by the mouse digging for seeds in the body, then by mites while it was under the staging waiting to see if it lived or died. It lived :)
