The gentleman in question was very passionate about his plants and good luck to him, whether or not you need that many plants with so few species on display :wink:
But if the beeb get just one or two people to take up this hobby seriously by showing this clip, that's great.

Looks like you have 3 plants in the one pot :smile:
As Stuart says, it is what used to be called F. electracanthus. Now thought to be one of the many forms of Ferocactus histrix.

I think it is C. spinosior, but the hybrid C. X kelvinensis does look similar.

Personally, I would not. never found fischeri a problem to flower.
But if you have 2 or more plants try it on one and see what happens :wink:

Hi Ernie;
The first one is certainly an Eulychnia, but without going out to the greenhouse in the morning and checking,. I would say a very dry E. castanea.
The second one as Mike says is A. subulata

taltalensis ssp. paucicostata does have white flowers so that is a possible.
