the mother caudex is quite big about 12cm high and 20cm long by 15cm wide. I over-protected it in the house over winter, but with the cutting I could take the risk of losing it by rougher treatment.I've learned they're a lot tougher than you'd imagine. I think it's a great plant

This is from a cutting from the mother plant (which has never flowered) I re-potted the cutting this season after 2 years, unfortunately there was no sign of a caudex forming. It was overwintered in the greenhouse with temps dropping no lower than 5C and has been outside where I've allowed the vine ...

I'd like to know your regime for cultivating the P.Brevicaule, I can never work out if mine is alive or dead until new leaves grow and I don't ever suppose I'll get it to flower. I've been after P bispinosum for a while but can't find any UK supplier...
