Delosperma seeds
I have (or will have as of tomorrow ) given all my Lithops to the MSG Exchange Scheme. For personal reasons I no longer have the time to care for them as they should be. That leaves me with an empty 6 x 8 greenhouse and a desire to grow some Delospermas, I already have some growing happily on my roc...

Re: Mesemb Study Group Bulletin
I have not ordered any Lithops seeds (or anything else for that matter) as my growing space is full, it is disappointing for me as I enjoy growing seeds more than anything else.
Maybe I should get rid of some adult plants and start again

Re: Is it ever OK to water a shrivelling Lithops in Winter?
If you dig it up and cut it in half you will see a happy plump little pair of "leaves" waiting to grow. The situation they are in, indoors and warm does not preclude a light watering provided they dry out quickly and completely. Wet roots for any length of time over winter will make them r...

Re: young lithops question
Lithops seedlings will grow all through winter if they have sufficient heat and light. This means that a full years growth will give good sized plants quickly. They must, however "rest" the following winter. I have grown seedlings like this over winter many times.

Re: The summer that never was
It is indeed C. frutescens Iann, it's been flowering for about 3 weeks so obviously just on time! It usually flowers later for me but I can't remember when, Sept sometime I think. Nice orange flowers though, although the plant is a bit straggly now and needs splitting up and rooting.

Re: The summer that never was
I have L. ruschiorum (labelled nelii, synonym?) in flower at the moment, also a couple of L. psuedotrucatrella plus one Conophytum.

Re: Lindsey Deaves
Lindsey was a kind and very generous lady, she gave me many plants and seeds over the years. I had the pleasure of meeting her. I was aware she was not well but the speed of her demise has been a surprise.
She will be greatly missed.

Re: Heating costs
Spend the money on good thermostat one that turns on and off very close to the set Point even if a cheaper heater is then used this is better for your pocket Alot of cost in heating comes from over run of the heaters Also add some cheap fans to help circulate the air they are about £10 each on ebay...

Re: Heating costs
If you don't spend much time in there during winter and don't have tall plants, rather than fix bubble to the roof it's easier to run string back and forth at gutter height and lay the bubble across this. Saves the cost of heating the 'loft' space, too. Good idea Phil, I like it, saves energy/money...
