Re: Lophophora red/brown lesions

No Aiko isn't it, your being rude. Yes Tina, that was my intention. Aiko's comments were insulting, patronising and totally unnecessary. I'm too old and tired to take that sort of nonsense from anyone. If you agree with what he wrote then you are as ridiculous as he is. Getting back to the original...

Re: Lophophora red/brown lesions

My normal cure for anything like this is the bin and I think that this is the sensible course of action this time as well. Does not sound like a plant person is speaking here, just someone with a collection looking for 'things' in mint condition only... This is a quite sad, actually. You truly are ...

Re: Lophophora red/brown lesions

Thanks both of you. I don't think that prolonged wet was the cause, they were dry from the end of August until April and it was during this period that the problem started. It was a strange autumn and I reckon it's either fungal or bacterial, thriving in the conditions prevalent then. I did dig one ...

Lophophora red/brown lesions

Quite a few of my Lophophora williamsiis have developed red/brown lesions mainly at the base of the plants. Other Lophophora species don't seem affected at the moment nor do any other cacti. I have sprayed them a couple of times with fungicides, Systhane and Bayer Fungus Fighter but this doesn't see...

Re: Lobivia chrysochete MN133?

Thanks Phil. I've just had a look at the back of the label to see where I got the seed or plant from and I got it from you as a young plant in 2012  . It's a nice plant so thank you very much.

Lobivia chrysochete MN133?

I have this labelled as Lobivia chrysochete MN133. It's a robust plant, 6 inches across, and annoyingly for the last two years has produced plenty of buds but only one has developed. I don't think the flower will fully open this year, it's been like this for a couple of days, we're not getting much ...

Re: Ariocarpus kotschoubeyanus help

It really looks dead to me. Knock it out of it's pot and if it is a goner I'll send you another, I've got plenty.

Scorched? It doesn't look good to me, none of my look like that no matter how dry they are.

Re: Caudiciforms

They sell a lot of habitat collected plants, for example there is no way the Adenia globosa are nursery grown. The RM numbers tell you where they got them from. It's up to you whether you think this is OK or not, I would never lecture anyone on this, after all I dig up loads of habitat plants (weeds...
