I have a BCMdV plant in my collection and there's a note in my database to say that its number has the same field data as the equivalent BLMT number. Is it Bates, Somebody, Somebody and de Vries? These are lovely plants, usually taken to be forms of tarabucoensis. Most tend to have a bit more yellow...

Cool dull days mean that flowers open several times. The closed flowers, between such days, are worth looking at, and are quite different to the buds.

I really want to try these, they're supposed to be very tasty.

Anyway, no pollen made by these lobivias.

But as there are no flowers with only male parts I guess they're neither monoecious nor dioecious. Is there a hemi- or pseudo- or somethingelse-ecious?

At the far end, the aylosteras continue. Fewer pinks now, more reds, oranges and yellows, including these.

There have been some yellow Lobivia pentlandii during the last week but they've not really been open when I've been around. Some red and pink forms waited until today:
