I had a message from Val earlier this afternoon. I was only chatting to Alain last night. Still trying to take it in .
My condolences to Val and the family.
RIP Alain.

Re: pure pumice?
I buy pumice from this seller sun-of-india on ebay. It comes very quickly delivered by DPD I think it is. The packaging is a cardboard box with the pumice packed in a strong plastic bag inside. Occasionally the cardboard boxes are falling apart by the time they arrive but the shipment has always bee...

Re: Mesembs sowing timing
I would take Terry's advice re the time to sow conophytums. I experimented last winter and sowed all my conophytum seeds during January and February and left the pots in a barely heated room on an east facing windowsill with no additional heating. The temperatures dipped below 50 degrees F most nigh...

I agree it does sound expensive. I wonder if anyone from the U.K has bothered with one since 14th December?

Re: Updated seed lists
Aiko I agree, it is slow to search and removing out of stock items would be quicker, although they do say out of stock as you search through it is very slow. I am glad I ordered when I did, as I am not sure I would risk it now I know that we should be asking for a phytosanitary certificate. $76 doll...

Re: Updated seed lists
I made a small order to Mesa Gardens on the 15th January. My seeds were posted within 48 hours and I received them last week. I did not bother with a phytosanitary certificate to the U.K and the seeds arrived with no problems. I assumed we did not need one.

Re: Sciarra fly & mites.
I had an infestation of sciarid flies in a lot of pots earlier in the year and used this:- http://www.supernemos.com/what-is-supernemos/ The pots contained tree seedlings and so the compost was soil based. To my surprise it did work, especially when combined with yellow sticky traps to catch the adu...

Re: MSG lithops ID
Lithops Bromfieldii cv. 'White nymph' would be my best guess. If it is you have some very nice plants. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LITHOPS-BROMFIELDII-CV-WHITE-NYMPH-beautiful-new-cultivar/173904837251?hash=item287d893a83:g:QeAAAOSwLeZc3XMX This is a link to one on sale on ebay from Tony Irons, they ...

Re: Fans for ventilation?
I have two fans hooked up to a 100W solar panel on the roof on the greenhouse. It works wonderfully even on cloudy days the fans are going. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/20W-DC12V-5V-Solar-Panel-12inch-11W-DC-Fan-1-2m-DC-Line-For-Camping-Hiking/153323664089?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&var=4532163...

Re: Updated seed lists
Mesa have said they will be adding in more seeds over the next few weeks. I would imagine they will eventually list all the seeds from last years lists when it is finished. I get the feeling the site going live might have been a bit of an accident judging by the fact they posted on facebook only hou...
