Yes potatorum got frost damage even here in Portugal one year. I'd go for one of the parryi like Paul says, I like neomexicana. The polianthiflora types are very small and very slow in my experience. interesting collection Ralph. They are keen on Euphorbia millii in some of the earlier pics and its understandable as they can flower all year which is why I have quite a few myself now.

Needs plenty of water and doesn’t like high temperatures. Best suited for alpine growers, not a good greenhouse plant but looks great in flower. I think it's good that the issue has been raised in such a thoughtful caring manner, nobody has control over the madness on social media but surely BCSS has control over the moderators?

Its cold at night here, but warms up nicely by the time the sun goes down. The temperature in the unheated bit of the greenhouse was down to 1C last night and up to 15C at the warmest today.
