Re: Did you enjoy the national show

I think the National only works because of the time interval, people hire vans to bring show specimens, that wouldn't happen if it was held every year and the attendance figures would probably drop. The four year interval seems to make it a more special event. I still think the society could have sp...

Re: ELK haul

Did I spot something hiding amongst the Agaves, looked a bit like a Pelecyphora, the one with the ring of big purple flowers, look forward to seeing it in flower! Yes. It's becoming quite hard to find any new variegated Agaves, the only nursery that could clone variegated Agaves stopped a couple of ...

Re: Illegal plants

As I mentioned earlier, if Mexico has never issued permits for Echinocactus Grusonii then how is anyone to know which plants can be legally grown. John E certainly didn't deserve the bucketload of **** poured on him for sharing a photo of a pretty plant on this site. Maybe we should all stop growing...

Re: Illegal plants

I can't see the relevance of the 1997 date, Mexico has never issued a permit to export Echinocactus Grusonii but we all g...

Re: National Show Pictures

Just a thought but, Liz, if you've taken photos of all the classes that are as good as the ones you've shown here, maybe a CD/DVD of The National could still be possible?? A slideshow on Youtube could also be a possibility?

Re: Did you enjoy the national show

The 'chap in the yellow t-shirt' is Rudy from Czech Republic - one of the best - don't miss him at ELK, worth going just for his plants and enthusiasm.
