You've got better than echinopsis, the name is clear, care is simple, flowering is showing and abundant all warm season, you can adore each flower much more than a single day, this fellow is more compact vs echinopsis.

Buchii is usually very flat and look like HUGE kermesina with short red flowers...

Very beautiful flowers. Black throat of flower is unique.

Great help, Patrick, many thanks! I know Sotavento very good and we stay usually in Manta Rota or VRSA.
Do you grow some cacti in a garden? Do you protect them from the sun and rain?
Is there a cactus society in Portugal?
