Re: Habitat-style staging

Tufa is good for growing plants in directly as it allows water to percolate through. It’s used a lot in alpine gardening. There are some nice examples at Kew. If you can find some it would be worth experimenting with Tufa is very soft and alkaline though - not sure some of my plants would like that...

Re: Habitat-style staging

Great idea. Is that one big rock with a hole drilled out or have you stuck together a few smaller rocks? (I'm thinking of 'borrowing' your idea for some hardy plants to sit on top of my gabions made in rock to match that that fills the gabions.)

Re: Plant Labels

I'll take at least 100, possibly more depending on price.

I do use aluminium labels for my permanent labels but they're too big for seed sowing and too expensive to use for plants thay are swaps.

Hopefully if these are thick they can be reused?

Re: Pest control

Possibly odd q, I applied compo bi 58. Its A systemic, should you wait a while before watering so its absorbed & spread thru the plant to hopefully kill the bugs or does watering a few days later make no difference or even help spread it around the plant or we haven't a clue. I'd say the answer...
