Hi Mike The flower on E. polyacanthus has a bit more yellow in the centre of the flower, in your second photo your flowers looks more like a plant from the scheeria section of the subgenus triglochidiata which does include E. acifer and its four subspecies,of those four the flowers are too small to ...

Cactusgirl; I agree with all of the above, never take a short cut on the base it will come back to bite you, I know halfway through the first day, you will be asking yourself, why am I doing this, but in the long run it will be worth it, and if your having ready mix concrete then what is an extra 50...

Only got buds on the Stenocactus plants up till now.
That is a fine looking plant Iann, what is the sp. or collection number.
I know a lot of the plants with white wool come with very little info.

Love the colour of the new growth, yes I found a few like that when moving some back to the greenhouse last week. Of those left in the cold greenhouse overwinter some of the usual suspects are already growing well ( Pterocactus and Maihueniopsis ) while others like Echinocereus are pushing out buds ...

G. asterias is a new one on me, I would have thought it was G. bodenbenderianum or one of its forms.
