Theoretically its nothing to do with bandwidth as the forum is on unlimited, which while it doesn't actually mean that its unlikely that we would have the issues being noticed.
I may take the forum offline at some point and do some optimisation work on the database and see if that helps.

Re: Forum speed Solved
Currently there seems to be no time delay. Which suggests it may be a traffic issue rather than software. Is this particularly noticiable at any given time period.

Re: Forum speed Solved
While I appreciate Tony's frustration, emailing me directly on this subject will only result in your mail being deleted. I have never known anything such an outrageous and unsympathetic statement from someone who has had responsibility as administrator and indeed a trustee of the society. Time for ...

Re: Forum speed Solved
Forum is on a new server, along with all the BCSS web sites, there is no obvious reason why its running slow. I did increase the disk allocation a few days ago as we were running short of storage, we are over 50gbs and it could be we are reaching the limits of the software and may need to archive or...

Re: CactusWorld (not quite) Live 2020 Show
I do despair at some of these seemingly negative comments. The aims of this ‘competition’ were threefold. 1) to have a bit of fun. 2) to have folks spend time with their plants and communicate and share some of their best plants with others during a time of lack of social contact (lockdown/no branc...

Nothing in the Haworthia class I haven't got so it will have to be Tina's Agave parryi 'Tuxedo Kamen', although there are few others in that class I would take home too.

Re: CactusWorld (not quite) Live 2020 Show
I will confess there was a point when I thought we were barking up the wrong tree. With 7 days to go we had only 70 or 80 entries, the Facebook team and others went into overdrive promoting the event, how much influence it had who knows but 7 days later we had over 700 entries, way beyond my excepti...
